Pirritu

Ngiyampaa man and First Nations singer-songwriter Pirritu’s music is an honest and melodic personal journey. Vocals weave around lyrics like a gentle wind, enticing you into the depths of sadness, love, and shimmering hope.

With two album releases under his belt - his debut album, Pirritu Part 1, was released in 2021, followed by Fire When The Sun Goes Down in 2023 - the songman’s work honours a cultural journey to connect back to land, language, and family with a continual thirst for deeper understanding of his people and country.

Nominated for the Archie Roach Foundation Award for Emerging Talent in both 2022 and 2023, Pirritu is also deeply committed to preserving and promoting his Ngiyampaa heritage. He volunteers with the Ngiyampaa Language Project, working to update and improve resources for the language, and is driven by his love for his daughter and his passion for music.
