Nadia Reid
Nadia Reid is a New Zealand-born, Manchester-based singer-songwriter whose luminous, emotionally rich folk-inflected music has earned her a devoted international following.
Since her breakthrough debut Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs in 2015, she has crafted a remarkable catalogue defined by poetic lyricism, magnetic vulnerability, and stirring melodic sweep.
Her debut album, Listen to Formation, Look for the Signs (2015) earned her nominations for a Tui award and the Taite Music Prize and the follow-up, Preservation (2017), took her to the world. MOJO named it the second-best album of the year, and Reid made her UK television debut on ‘Later… with Jools Holland’. She soon went from playing small New Zealand pubs to touring Europe and beyond.
Then came five years of profound change. Reid moved to Manchester, became a mother of two and in February 2025 released her fourth album, Enter Now Brightness. Her first for Chrysalis Records, she worked with producer Tom Healy and long-time guitarist Sam Taylor to make an album, she says, that is of departure and questioning, that has reminded her how songwriting can be “the most useful thing to do with pain and joy and thoughts and feelings and anger.” That through music we can find great change.
A seasoned international performer, Reid has toured extensively throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe and North America, appearing at celebrated festivals including Glastonbury and Green Man: and we are thrilled to add BMMF to the list.
“The New Zealand songwriter embraces a full bodied sound halfway between Haim’s sophisticated pop sparkle and Sharon Van Etten’s full-throated songcraft.”
“Reid has built a name for herself as a chronicler of emotional complexities…capturing the joy and pain of living in an opaque fashion.”
