Allegra Dunning is an 11-year-old singer‑songwriter from the Blue Mountains already making a name for herself in the music world.
2019 saw Allegra become the NSW Folk Federation Young Artist of the Year and winning songwriting and performance awards including The 2019 Minstrel award, Sydney Folk Festival Song Writing award and more. Allegra had been busy in 2019 having been booked for local and interstate performances through NSW, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria to full capacity audiences and leaving standing room only.
In January 2020, Allegra proudly became the youngest artist to be endorsed by the Australian made renowned guitar company, Cole Clark. The year starts with Tamworth 2020, the rest of 2020 is shaping up to be another huge year for her, having been booked locally and interstate in NSW, Queensland, Canberra, Victoria and South Australia once again until November.
Allegra performs a mix of rearranged covers and her heart-stirring originals. She writes songs that evolve from her imagination and through experiences, emotions and things we fear, with a distinctive Indie-Folk /Americana/Blues/ feel. Often she injects innocent darkness into her lyrics that are described as “Breathtaking”.
Her music will captivate and enchant with a sound that can be referenced to eras past and the vocal ability of someone twice her age.
