First Artists Announced for the 2019 Blue Mountains Music Festival!

The 24th annual Blue Mountains Music Festival of Folk Roots and Blues (BMMF) returns to scenic Katoomba on March 15, 16 and 17 in 2019, with an incredible line-up of local and international artists. Early bird tickets are on sale from October 1st for a limited time at the BMMF website.
Feature Australian artists include the evocative Katie Noonan with cartoonist Michael Leunig as well as the eclectic The Others—a trio composed of jazz supremoes James Morrison, Paul Grabowsky and Spiderbaits’ Kramm. The list continues with ever popular Perch Creek, the sister vocals of Vika and Linda Bull, guitar maestro’s The Grigoryan Bros with multi- talented Adam Page, the wonderful Marcia Howard, the big band sound of The Northern Folk, SA’s the Coconut Kids and hot blues from 19-Twenty.

Internationally, five amazing UK acts are already confirmed including folk legend Ralph McTell, boogie woogie king Ben Waters with Derek Nash, The Moulettes, high energy favourite Z-STAR and the incomparable Rory McLeod. From Ireland come newcomers Wallis Bird and The Daoiri Farrell Trio joined by perennial favourite Luka Bloom. Canadians include Tomato Tomato (NB), Melisande (Que), Les Chauffeurs a Pieds, and the stunning vocalist Basia Bulat (Ont). From USA come the Bluegrass sensation Front Country and ukulele hotshots The Naked Waiters.

Also, the world music sound of Afenginn (Den) and the hilarious Topp Twins (NZ) round out a very impressive first announcement. And there are many more artists to come!
As always there will be three days of great music on seven stages, as well as the songwriters’ and instrumental circles, Heartland Conversations and roaming performers.
