Artists' Application

to perform at the Blue Mountains Music Festival 2011

Important stuff

  • Artist Applications close on 1 September 2010.
  • Notification of successful Application by 30 September 2010.
  • All applications must include your CV/Press blurb.
  • Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.

The Festival receives many hundreds of applications every year. Unfortunately we cannot offer appearances to all applicants. We will contact you before 30 September 2010 if your application indicates that your act will fit with the mix of performers in any particular year. We keep all applications on file from previous years and review our files regulary, so if unsuccessful this year, you may be suitable for a spot later. However, please apply again to submit new material as it is developed.

There are three steps to this Application.
  • Step 1. Enter essential information about your act. (Especially your website/mySpace site where we can listen to your material)
  • Step 2. Upload a pdf file of your CV/Bio/Press blurb. (Whatever you want to call it.)
  • Finish. On-screen confirmation of receipt of your Application. (An email receipt with further information is sent to the email address you provide in your Application.)

None of the information you provide is saved until the last page of this Application (your receipt). So please complete the Application to ensure we know of your interest in performing at the Festival.

We listen to all applicants' material on your website or mySpace site, however, we strongly encourage you to send us CDs of your current material and any other press material by mail to the address on the last page of this application.

Read this boring stuff

Generally artists perform a minimum of two sets during the weekend (and a workshop if appropriate).

We provide comfortable multi-share accommodation, but this is offered to performers and essential managment only.

Unless agreed by prior arrangement, the Festival requires all artists to be available during the weekend of the festival and also requires exclusive performance rights within a 100Km radius two months prior to the festival weekend.

Quoting fees can be difficult. Because the festival is a non-commercial, independent, community based event run by a tiny staff and hundreds of volunteers, we therefore suggest you quote a fee that is fair and reasonable. Please consider:

  1. That you cover out of pocket expenses.
  2. A festival booking offers a unique opportunity and exceptional value as a promotional and networking tool.
  3. Many CD's are sold at BMFF and this will increase your bottom line. The festival shop has 15% commission on sales.

Thanks for reading this far. We welcome your application.

In Step 1 you will be asked to provide contact information and essential details about your act.
